assistant manager at wal-mart salary
I have been working for ten years as a assist manger wish I could move up great people skills, and profit.?

I am a assistant manager for Wal-mart long term 10 years moved up the ladder from hourly to salary but find it hard to move up. They know my plans can it be I am good at what I do and they do not want me to move up? I have great people skills , great profit skills, planning skills great to, just can not figure it out why?

What is your educational background? Do they know you have aspirations to advance in the company?

In general you must stand out from others. What makes you different from everyone else? Do they even need someone right now? Have you been passed up by others less qualified before?

Don’t just expect to be promoted. Remember, almost every company is going to do what they think is in their best interest. Until they have a need for a more advanced position AND they feel you are the best candidate you will not be promoted. Sometimes you may get a promotion if you threaten to leave because they don’t want to lose you. That is a dangerous situation because you are likely to be the first to go in tough times because you are viewed as overpaid.

Look into moving to a different location or store if that is what it takes. Ask your manager what he/she thinks you need to do to make the next step.
