Getting a passport.?
I was considered getting a passport, not for traveling, but just as a secondary photo identification.
I was wondering whats the easiest way to get a passport and how do you incorporate your passport photo into the whole ordeal? I’ve seen posters at Walmart saying “Get your passport photos while you wait!”. How does the whole process work?
Also if possible, is there a way to do a majority of this via the Internet or Snail Mail?
To get the actual passport you have to go to a Post Office. First go to the Passport website (http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html). Print out an application and fill it out. It will tell you everything you need to bring when you make an appt. at the post office. You can get your photos at Walmart as you have seen. You bring everything with you and then they will send out to have your passport made. I was about to get mine but I found out it is currently taking 10 weeks to get it made which costs about $95. To have it expediated it would cost around $185.
