pay bill walmart
if i bought a router from walmart…would i have to pay the bill monthly for the router?

or do i just buy it once and thats it…

A router is a piece of equipment that you buy once and your done. (That is until it breaks or it is too slow for your growing need to go faster.)

To connect to the internet, you need an ISP (Internet Service Provider). For this, you will pay some kind of recurring fee for a connection outside of your house to the rest of the internet world. This may be through your phone lines, or by cable, or some satellite dish providers. They will provide you with information on how to set up your router to work with them.

How much they charge depends on what kind of access speed you want. Generally the faster the connection, the more you pay. Many companies offer discounts for bundled services.

By the way, a router is only required if you have more than one computer, or another internet device (like an iPhone or an network printer or media device) that you want to be able to communicate with each other. If you only have one computer, then you can hook that computer up to your ISP directly without a router.

A router will allow all your computers or other devices to connect to the internet with only one shared internet connection. You do NOT have to pay extra for the additional computers and devices.
