latent learning is when you don’t realize you learned something until you are actually doing the action you learned. i would assume that in a store like walmart it has to do with advertisements. So in walmarts case, they pretty much train people to look for that stupid smiley face with the sale prices. when people react to the sale as they have seen they are supposed to, that idea was learned and then used.
