my first one is an RCA from wal mart
the one i got last night, a DISH network DTVpal, seems a lot better reception
The DTV PAL is made by Direct TV (not the Dish Network) and is a good converter box. This converter has analog pass-thru, supports an on-screen TV guide from information broadcasted in the digital channels & a event timer that lets you select a program out of the TV Guide for future viewing and/or recording. There is no other converter with this set of features.
