How do you feel about fundraising for funds for adoption?
A lot of couples have the desire to adopt, but the fees scare them off. Although some can afford to raise the child, its sometimes hard to come up with that much money at once.
Just wanted to get a feel for how people feel about contributing money to help fund someones international adoption. Helping to bring a child home, out of an orphanage.?
Would you buy a bracelet to support it, or other items?, or if you were part of a church, would you give a love offering? Or would you purchase a bracelet outside of a K-Mart or Wal-mart?
Please dont say adopt in the US, thats not really an option, with birth mothers changing their mind and all. Less complicated overseas, and a lot of those children live in orphanages.
As long as the adoptive parents were ‘fit’ to adopt, and met all the legal and ethical requirements, of course! My husband and l met a similar situation when we started a family, we could afford quite easily the ongoing costs of raising a child, but not the initial adoption fees. We would have both loved to adopt, but we had two wonderful children biologically, and l’m happy to say we’re now in a position to complete our family through adoption. As for adopting within the US, any adoption is a blessing, but we are choosing an overseas adoption because we feel that the living conditions of children in some of those countries are horrendous. Personally, l would make any contribution l could, whether it was a donation, fundraising, or financial ‘gift’. Actually, l think yours is a fantastic idea, wouldn’t it be wonderful if that could actually be set up to help many loving couples realise the biggest dream anyone could ever have-to be a parent?
