Michael Dell is CEO of Dell computers and Jim C. Walton is the son of Sam Walton who founded Wal-Mart Stores Inc. What about Lawrence J. Ellison and Sheldon Adelson; who are they? These men are two of the richest people in America with a combined wealth of $40 billion dollars. That is more money than most of us will ever see in our lifetime, or is it? How did Bill Gates and Warren Buffett become two of the wealthiest men in the world? By having an attitude of determination and a mindset geared toward prominence. In order to achieve affluence and greatness one has to understand the importance of personal and professional responsibility and labor in an effort to accomplish individually set targets. How does a person begin to set lofty goals? Change your mindset.
Each individual dwelling on this planet was given the power to choose. We make effortless decisions each day, such as choosing our wardrobe or purchasing food. We also make difficult life altering choices. Getting married, quitting a job, or choosing to end a relationship that is no longer desirable. Each decision plays on our state of mind. If our job fails to serve the purpose in which we need, we usually make the judgment to either quit or find a new position that supplies our desires. If we have a want or need to become great individuals, we must allow those thoughts to enter our psyche. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett made the decision to become great individuals long before they were billionaires. The common thread between people that are considered great is determination and struggle. Without determination there can be no visualization. Struggling to make that vision come true is what builds character and moves you closer to achieving the lofty standard of being a considered a great individual. Our authority to manage decisions is what will give us the ability to transform our frame of mind.
“Vision is the art of seeing the invisible.” With this quote, Jonathan Swift was able to convey the frame of mind needed to achieve distinction. We as human beings usually place to much of an emphasis on dreams and not enough onto vision. One can give birth to a dream and that dream should develop into a life vision. A person should have the vision to see the future. Bill Gates allowed his dream to develop into his vision for Microsoft. An idea as bold as Microsoft was seen as radical and unachievable when Bill unveiled his vision. Now William H. Gates is worth $53 billion dollars all because of his ability to see the invisible. Forward thinking individuals and those with the aptitude to see the unforeseen are able to parlay that mindset into success and greatness. If one wants to attain this type of eminence it is totally up to that individual to make the proper adjustment and work toward enabling his or her own vision.
Vision gives us the ability to see the world from a diverse perspective. Although Bill Gates is worth over $50 billion dollars, he gives a lot of that wealth away to the needy. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is one of the most generous in the world. Right behind Mr. Gates lays Warren Buffet. Buffet’s personal wealth extends past $40 billion dollars. He has decided to donate 85% of his wealth toward philanthropy. Again these two men are expounding upon their vision for the world. Allow these two individuals to serve as examples of how anyone is able to change the world. Permit vision to guide your mind to making a positive difference in your life and in others. The key to achieve greatness in this life is all in one’s mind; it’s up to the individual to release that vision for the world to see.
