How to Make Identification Cards

My attorney told me, in Oklahoma there is no such thing as a legal name and a person is free to assume whatever name he or she chooses.  However, most people don’t know that and will request proof of identification even when there is no need.

Where no fraud is involved and no intent to do harm, there are valid reasons to have an alternate identity.  In fact, this very site encourages alternate identities.

I will explain how to make very nice and usually acceptable ID cards for normal situations.  However, people protect themselves, and the methods I provide are not near good enough to use the ID cards to commit fraud.  That would require equipment costing tens of thousands of dollars.

I will give some examples. If you rent an apartment under an alais, it is unlikely they would look carefully at your ID card because they are paid in advance.  Usually a month’s rent plus a deposit.  Also, you might be able to open a bank account because they are getting your money and will not process check for more than what is in your account.

When you are carded for age at a club, they don’t look carefully because after all, they want your business.  My low tech methods might be accepted at Wal-Mart with payment by check for a small amount.  Primarily because it is not worth a person’s time and effort to create fake checks and ID for small purchases.  And, because the risk to reward ratio is extremely high.

In fact, almost no identification is acceptable where the person is risking large sums of money.  Even Cashier’s checks are not accepted when risking large sums of money.  For example, When I purchased from APMEX a 10 oz bar of silver as a graduation present, they immediately accepted the Cashier’s in exchange for the silver. However, when I paid with a Cashiers’s for 3,000 ozs of silver, they held the Cashier’s check for ten days before delivering the silver.

You can buy a house and get the keys in exchange for a Cashier’s check. However, there is no real risk. If the Cashier’s check is not valid, the sale is void and, unlike silver or gold,  the house will still be there.

That said, if you have a good templet, you can make good quality by using an Epson R260, R280, R360 and perhaps other models that have a tray for printing on CDs and DVD.  On Ebay you can buy on the secondary market similar trays that hold 30 Mil PVC ID Cards.  The PVC cards must have a coating to accept inkjet printing and you can purchase a sample of inkjet coating from Ink Aid at http://www.inkaid1.com.
