Is this a check scam?

I got a apyroll check in thre mail from one experience consumer research group. for 3,973 It looks like a real payroll check, from Bearing & drives inc. the bank is suntrust bank…macon Georgia..instructions,
training pay &expenses 383
wal mart purchase 90
money gram transaction 3400
service charge money gram 100
it is imperative that upon reciept of check that you contact our office Failure to comply will result in automatic stop payment of check…
My husband wants me to cash it, I however do not
my hubby says he signed me up as a “secret shopper” and this is apparently where it is from. Should I take it to the da and report it

This is screaming scam.

I have a feeling, you’ll find if you contact them, that they request you cash the check, then send them the ‘3400.00 money gram transaction’ money to them via western union or some other company.

Meanwhile, 3 or so weeks later, the bank finds that the check is phony, and you are responsible for the money.

Turn the check over to the DA, and tell your husband to spend a little time investigating things before he signs you up for things.
