Ok, so my family wants to get family portraits done…?
There are 8 of us all together, grandma, her 3 daughters, her 3 grandchildren, and her daughters husband. These are the types of portraits we want taken:
Grandma w/ everyone else.
Everyone else besides grandma.
Grandmas 3 daughters.
Grandmas 3 grandchildren.
My family(4)
My aunt and her son.
and then maybe an individual portrait of everyone.
There are 2 places by us, Sears Portrait and Picture me Studios in our wal mart.
my question is which one of these studios would better fit what we want? And at the better price?
And do we have to buy packages w/ only a certain amount of poses in each one?
Honestly, my mom and aunt (who are buying these for my grandma for christmas) they probably don’t want to spend more than $100 each.
I wouldn’t go to either. If you’re going to bother spending the money, have it done right by someone more professional than Sears. The last few times I went to Sears there was some college girl with no patience or photo skills of any sort taking the pictures. Talk to the person who is going to be taking the pictures and see if they know anything about photography, or if they at least know enough lingo to fake it. Don’t get the nickel tour from the receptionist / order taker, talk to the one pushing the button.
I’ve had good pics taken (of one or 2 kids) at both places locally here, but the most recent visits were the last. I can screw up pictures like that in the comfort of my own home for free. Don’t cheap out on this if you’re going to do it. If you don’t have confidence in the photographer, don’t give them your money. Good Luck.
