A good mountain bike for $500-$700?

I’m looking to buy a new bike becuase mine is a piece, some supercycle from canadian tire. My mom says im too hard on bikes but they weren’t good enough bikes all from walmart and anadian tire. anyways im looking for a new bike preferably a mountian bike since I will do quite abit of off road riding. I would like a bike with dual suspension over a hard tail in the range from $500-700 in canada. I’m thinking norco but just wondering what others had to say. thanks for the help

personally i wouldn’t go for a full suspension bike because they usually are very heavy and have bad parts that are easy to break. if u want a full suspension u will end up spending 1000 to 2000 for a decent full suspension. i would go for a nice hard tail. good bikes are gary fisher. i wouldn’t recomend low end treks because thay usually have bad parts. but the best thing would be to go to a bike dealer other then outlet stores. gary fisher mullet might work for drops and jumps i had one great all around bike, wouldn’t recomend it for up hill riding. i would look at some gary fishers good bikes cheap price.
