I need some original ideas for Halloween costumes.?

With trick-or-treating coming up, I’d like some costume ideas for my kids and for myself (yes, I dress up too). I’m tired of the same old things, and my kids aren’t fond of the mass produced costumes from Walmart. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
