marcus fitzgerald twitter

Marcus Fitzgerald unknowingly touched off a media firestorm last weekend Marcus fitzgeral twitter account had comments that his borther wasn’t happy with the number of looks he was getting from Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner.

Larry Fitzgerald has consistently shown that he knows what to say and what not to say when the public is paying attention.  In one afternoon of frustration, however, Marcus has thrown a wrench into that carefully constructed image.

Here’s a couple of deleted entries that were gone by the time we found the ones we mentioned last night.

“Ok another drive & kurt doesnt throw 2 larry.  YOU OLD ASS MAN, THROW HIM THE DAMN BALL.”

“Bout time kurt!  I almost had to come to jacksonville & strangle his ass lmao.”

Do you think Marcus Fitzgerald twitter posts were too much?

YES

or

NO

Those tweets no longer appear on Marcus Fitzgerald Twitter page, but he did add the following today:

“morning guys.up early @ team breakfast.I made a gaffe this weekend when jokin about kurt warner throwin the ball 2 my bro.I was only kidding

“& the media obviously tried 2 stir up something. But that was on me,I shoulda known better.Larry had nothing 2 do w/ ne thing.I apologize 4

“4 that one.Hope u guys all have a blessed day.Now its time 4 me to put n work @ practice.hit u guys later.”

But the rules of battle in cyberspace are quickly becoming this: Never engage in a fight with a coward who doesn’t have the guts to attach his real name to his rage.

Coaches, players — and even columnists — have always required a thick hide. Occasionally rubbing folks the wrong way is part of the job description, but gone are the days when criticism came in a stamped letter with a return address or even an incendiary, expletive-laden voicemail with a return phone number.

It’s Internet guerrilla warfare today.
