Is this a new Shadowshopper scam?

I got a letter from SS with an assignment to go to walmart and sear to use their moneygram service. SS provided a check for $3820 to cover the cost and pay 200 for the “training” assignment. The check looks legit but is from Altron Inc which is an electronics manufacturing company.

It’s a scam, and somehow you will lose in the long run. Take the check to a bank and report it as fraudulent and that you got it in the mail, and they can take of the rest.
