Why can’t I find the Wii Balance Board in stores? Is it out of production?
I’ve tried looking for the Wii Balance Board (either by itself or in a package with Wii Fit Plus) everywhere from Walmart to Target to Best Buy to GameStop, but have been unable to find it anywhere. The only place I can find it new is online at Amazon as part of a Wii Fit Plus bundle.
I wouldn’t typically shy away from buying online, but there’s no way to price compare, and a rumor from a question at Amazon suggests the Balance Board is temporarily out of production and prices at online retailers have risen significantly as a result.
If there is a chance prices will fall in the near future, then I’d prefer to wait on making the online purchase.
Hmm, I haven’t heard anything about them being out of production. Maybe they’ve just slowed down a bit after the Christmas rush? Since Wii’s recently became less expensive, and with the new-year popularity in fitness games still going strong, I think it’s just because they’re popular. I’m no analyst, but I don’t think prices are about to plummet.
